Renovation Plastering Specialists
Renovating a property is a major undertaking, and plastering is one of the key trades that transforms a building site back into a home. Render-It Ltd works alongside builders, project managers and homeowners undertaking renovation projects across Somerset and Dorset, providing reliable, high-quality plastering that keeps projects on schedule.
We handle renovation plastering projects of all scales — from replastering a single room after a water leak to complete whole-house renovations involving stripped-back walls and ceilings throughout. Our team works efficiently and tidily, understanding the pressures of renovation timescales.
We are experienced in working on older properties including Victorian, Edwardian and earlier buildings, where we can advise on the most appropriate plastering system — whether modern gypsum, lime-based or a combination depending on the property's needs.

Renovation Plastering FAQs
What does renovation plastering involve?
Renovation plastering covers all plastering work required as part of a property renovation — from stripping back old plaster and treating walls for damp, to full replastering of walls and ceilings throughout a home. It can include traditional plaster, dry lining and specialist systems for period properties.
When should I replaster during a renovation?
Plastering is typically one of the last "wet trades" on a renovation project. All structural work, roofing, windows, plumbing and first-fix electrical work should be completed before plastering begins. This ensures the walls are dry and there are no more major works that could damage the new plaster.
How long does whole-house renovation plastering take?
The duration depends on the size of the property and the scope of work. A typical 3-bedroom house can take 1–2 weeks to plaster throughout, with a further 2–4 weeks for the plaster to dry fully before decorating. We will provide a realistic programme with your quote.
Do you work on period and Victorian properties?
Yes — we regularly work on period properties across Somerset including Victorian terraces, Edwardian houses and older stone cottages. For historic properties, we advise on the most appropriate plastering system, which may include lime plaster to maintain breathability.
